Morgan Wallen Pleads Guilty to 2 Misdemeanor Charges, Sentenced to Probation & a Week in Jail
Country music star Morgan Wallen has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges related to his arrest earlier this year. As part of the plea deal, he will serve a week in jail and be placed on probation for two years.
In February, Wallen was arrested after allegedly punching a man outside a bar in Nashville, Tennessee. The incident occurred just hours before he was set to perform at the Grammy Awards, where he was nominated for Best New Artist and Best Bluegrass Album.
According to court documents, Wallen pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct and vandalism. In addition to his week-long jail sentence, he must also complete 24 hours of community service and pay a fine of $1,000.
The plea deal comes after Wallen’s representatives announced that he would be taking time off from music to focus on his personal life and well-being. The singer-songwriter has been open about his struggles with addiction and mental health in the past.
It is unclear how this guilty plea will impact Wallen’s future in the entertainment industry, but it marks a significant turning point in the wake of the arrest.
