Reveals Spanish Bank Allocates 2% to Aptos Staking ETP: Bitwise
Bitwise Asset Management has announced a significant milestone in the world of cryptocurrency, as a major Spanish bank has reportedly allocated 2% of its holdings to the Bitwise Aptos staking exchange-traded product (ETP). The news marks a notable step forward in mainstream crypto adoption, with traditional financial institutions increasingly embracing digital assets.
Hunter Horsley, CEO of Bitwise, made the announcement on Twitter, highlighting that the adoption of cryptocurrencies is accelerating as more and more financial institutions integrate crypto-savvy investors. He emphasized that this investment, made through one of the bank’s funds, represents a substantial step towards mainstream crypto adoption.
The unnamed Spanish bank has reportedly allocated 2% of its assets to the Bitwise Aptos staking ETP, which offers an expected return of 4.7%. This regulated investment vehicle allows investors to earn passive income by participating in blockchain activities through staking Aptos’ APT tokens.
The recent surge in network activity on Aptos is further evidence of the platform’s growing importance in the crypto ecosystem. According to data compiled by Nansen, active addresses on the Aptos network have reached a staggering 1.2 million this month, indicating an uptrend in the community’s overall engagement.
Aptos has also been ranked as the second-fastest growing ecosystem globally, with a whopping 96% increase in developer activity between Q3 2023 and Q4 2024, according to Electric Capital’s Developer Report 2024.
