The Cardano Foundation has addressed a recent security breach involving the compromise of its account, which was subsequently restored after a comprehensive investigation.
On February 18th, the Cardano Foundation reported that one of their accounts had been compromised and was temporarily taken offline to prevent further unauthorized access. In a swift response, they removed the affected posts, including a scam post related to ADAsol, as well as a notice about a potential SEC lawsuit, which were likely part of the attacker’s malicious activity.
The foundation assured the Cardano community that none of their other systems were impacted by this incident and expressed gratitude towards those who quickly alerted them to the issue. Special thanks were extended to the broader network of contacts and peers for their invaluable support during this challenging time.
As part of the comprehensive investigation underway, the foundation aims to identify the attacker(s), determine the root cause of the breach, and implement measures to prevent future occurrences.
