**Dogecoin Warns Community of Important Update for Holders: Details**
In a recent update, the Dogecoin community was alerted to a crucial notice regarding holders. As reported by Inevitable 360, a vulnerability disclosure addressed in the latest Dogecoin Core release 1.14.9 poses a risk to users if their nodes are not updated promptly.
According to the report, around 647 initial nodes were counted, but this number decreased significantly following the incident, leaving approximately 247 active nodes. X users took to the community notes to dispute these numbers, asserting that over 14,000 active nodes exist on the Dogecoin network and that the reported flaw has been resolved in the latest release.
Lumin addressed recent FUD, emphasizing that while the initial numbers may have been exaggerated, the importance of keeping nodes updated remains paramount. “The numbers being talked about, while sensational, aren’t wholly accurate. But this should send a message: If you’re running a node full time, you need to keep it updated.”
Developers at Inevitable 360 issued an urgent call to all Dogecoin node operators after the release of version 1.14.9, citing the newly addressed vulnerability.
