Helldivers 2 has achieved a significant milestone with its latest update, as the game experiences its biggest-ever player count spike since the release of the game. The recent Illuminate update, which was announced during The Game Awards and went live immediately after the event, has resulted in an unprecedented surge in players.
Prior to this update, Helldivers 2’s concurrent player count on Steam had been capped at around 30,000, but this has skyrocketed by a staggering 500% to reach an astonishing 150,000 concurrent players. This is not only a massive increase but also the highest player count the game has seen since its launch in April 2024.
