Meta updates its smart glasses with real-time AI video
Meta has updated its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses with a range of new AI-powered features, including the ability to have ongoing conversations and translate in real-time. The upgrades are available for early access users in the US and Canada.
The new “live AI” feature allows wearers to continuously converse with Meta’s AI assistant, Meta AI, without needing to say the “Hey Meta” wake word every time they want to ask a question or change topic. This means that wearers can interrupt the conversation at any point to ask follow-up questions or explore a different topic.
The company has also added real-time video capabilities to its smart glasses. With this feature, wearers can ask questions about what they are seeing in real-time. For example, they could ask Meta AI “What’s around my neighborhood?” and receive an answer based on the visual data from the camera.
