Softbank CEO announces a $100 billion investment into the US
On Monday, Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son joined President-elect Donald Trump to announce that his company would invest $100 billion into the US over the next four years. This monumental deal is expected to create at least 100,000 American jobs.
The press conference took place at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, where Trump touted the investment as a “historic” move that will ensure the development and growth of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence in the United States.
Son, who has had a close working relationship with Trump since 2016, cited his admiration for the President-elect’s willingness to “double down” on investments as the reason behind doubling his initial commitment.
