Title: Sarah Knafo Calls for Strategic Bitcoin Reserve in the EU, Opposes Digital Euro
Sarah Knafo, a member of the European Parliament, has called upon the European Union to establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve and opposes the proposed digital euro. Knafo, who is also a French magistrate, emphasized that Bitcoin’s growing recognition as a sovereign hedge asset necessitates an urgent need for the EU to invest in it.
In her speech at the European Parliament, Knafo highlighted instances of countries like El Salvador and the United States, which have already taken steps to build their own reserves. She used the example of El Salvador’s President, who was initially ridiculed by the political class and IMF but has since seen a 100% return on investment with hundreds of millions of dollars now available for his people.
Knafo also referred to comments made by Jerome Powell, Chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve, who compared Bitcoin to digital gold. This surge in value is not something the EU can ignore, and it’s time they took notice, she said.
