Kraken Institutional 2024 in Review: A Year of Innovation and Growth
As we close out the year 2024, I am thrilled to reflect on the incredible progress made by Kraken Institutional. Despite the challenges posed by a rapidly evolving crypto market, our team has worked tirelessly to expand our offerings, enhance our services, and strengthen our commitment to institutional-grade crypto solutions.
One of the most significant milestones we achieved was the launch of our comprehensive platform on February 27th. This move marked a major shift in how institutions could access, trade, and manage digital assets. By providing a full suite of crypto tools and infrastructure support, we empowered institutions to confidently navigate the complexities of institutional crypto.
Another key accomplishment was the debut of qualified custody. Our purpose-built digital asset custody solution caters to the unique security, transparency, and regulatory compliance requirements that institutional clients demand. This development has been instrumental in our growth and cemented Kraken Institutional’s position as a leader in the space.
2024 also saw an unprecedented surge in trading volumes across all product categories. We reached new heights of 142% YoY spot volume growth, a testament to the trust institutions have placed in us. Additionally, our stables volumes experienced a remarkable 57% increase year-over-year, underscoring the faith investors have in our platform.
Furthermore, we continued to expand our OTC business, with an astonishing 54% year-over-year growth. This phenomenal growth is a direct result of the tireless efforts from our dedicated team and their dedication to providing unparalleled support to our clients. Our futures volumes also saw an astonishing 513% increase year-over-year, reinforcing Kraken Institutional’s commitment to delivering exceptional performance.
In addition to these milestones, we’ve been committed to fostering stronger relationships within the institutional crypto community. We participated in over 20 major events and conferences throughout the year, including the Digital Asset Summit and the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium. This level of engagement has enabled us to stay ahead of the curve and provide our clients with cutting-edge insights and expertise.
