Arm Squares Off Against Qualcomm: Day 2
In a surprising turn of events, the second day of the trial between Arm and Qualcomm has come to a close with a plethora of intriguing revelations. As we dive into the details of this heated dispute, it’s essential to understand that there are multiple layers to this issue, each as complex as the others.
On the one side, Qualcomm is being accused by Arm of infringing on their intellectual property rights through the Nuvia acquisition and subsequent use in their latest CPU designs. This is a matter of great contention, with both parties presenting their respective cases in court.
However, today we learned that there’s another angle to this situation. It appears that Qualcomm is asserting that they have the right to continue using Nuvia technology under the licensing agreement they obtained when acquiring the company. In essence, Qualcomm believes that it was part of the original license and therefore they are entitled to proceed with their plans.
But what does this mean for the end-user?
