Tony Buzbee, a high-profile attorney known for taking on powerful foes and seeking truth in the courtroom, has filed a lawsuit against Jay-Z’s entertainment company Roc Nation, alleging a conspiracy to “obstruct justice.”
Buzbee, who has previously sued major corporations like Facebook and Twitter, claims that Roc Nation, which is owned by Jay-Z, has engaged in a campaign of intimidation and harassment aimed at silencing him. According to the lawsuit, Buzbee’s efforts to uncover the truth about a recent controversy involving the company have been met with resistance and attempts to discredit his work.
The lawsuit alleges that Roc Nation employees and associates have made false accusations against Buzbee and threatened him in an effort to deter him from continuing his investigation. The complaint also accuses Jay-Z himself of being aware of these actions and doing nothing to stop them, despite being the CEO of the company.
“This is a classic case of powerful people trying to silence someone who is trying to tell the truth,” Buzbee said in a statement. “I will not be intimidated or deterred from pursuing justice, no matter how much pressure they bring to bear.”
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and an injunction against Roc Nation’s alleged actions.
Roc Nation has not yet publicly responded to the allegations, but it is likely that this lawsuit will prompt a response in the coming days.
