The Ram 1500 Rev is Now Delayed to 2026
Ram’s highly anticipated all-electric pickup truck has suffered a setback as it will no longer be available in the first half of 2025. According to recent reports, Stellantis, the parent company behind Ram, has announced that they are pushing back the release date to 2026.
The reason for this delay is reportedly due to the company’s decision to prioritize the launch of their gas-extended hybrid Ramcharger truck instead. This comes as a surprise considering the original plans were to bring both trucks to market simultaneously.
Stellantis claims that this change in strategy is driven by overwhelming consumer interest and a decline in demand for heavy all-electric models. However, the company’s recent sales performance has been under scrutiny, with CEO Carlos Tavares stepping down earlier this month due to declining sales figures.
It remains unclear what implications this delay may have on the truck’s electric range or features, as no further information has been provided by Stellantis at this time.
The Ramcharger and Rev trucks share a common platform, which is designed to accommodate multiple powertrains including electric, gas, hybrid, and hydrogen options. This shared platform allows for extended ranges of up to 690 miles on a full charge and tank for the Ramcharger.
In related news, Stellantis has recently secured a federal loan from the Biden administration to develop domestic EV batteries in partnership with Samsung SDI.
