This waterproof coffin will keep an AirTag alive for a decade
In a bid to revolutionize the way we track our belongings and loved ones, Elevation Lab has unveiled a groundbreaking innovation in the form of the TimeCapsule. This remarkable device is designed to keep an Apple AirTag alive for a decade by replacing its coin cell battery with a pair of AA batteries.
The TimeCapsule’s unique design allows it to replace the CR2032 coin cell battery that typically lasts around one year. Instead, you can install two AAs inside the case, which provides a significantly longer lifespan. This waterproof and dustproof enclosure ensures that your AirTag remains functional even in harsh environments where exposure to water or moisture could be detrimental.
According to Elevation Lab’s Casey Hopkins, the material used in making this device is “fiber reinforced polycarbonate” that does not block or reduce the range of Bluetooth or UWB signals. This means that you can still rely on your AirTag’s tracking capabilities without any compromise. Furthermore, it has an IP69 rating, which offers the highest protection against water, dust, and dirt ingress.
One of the most significant advantages of this device is its ability to help camouflage the AirTag. The TimeCapsule looks like an external storage drive instead of a tracking device, making it ideal for situations where discretion is crucial.
