WASPI Women Slam Labour’s ‘Broken Promises’, Demand Justice
In a scathing attack, women who were denied state pension increases have lashed out at Labour, accusing them of breaking promises and putting them “in the firing line”. The group, known as WASPI (Women Against State Pension Inequality), are demanding justice after being shortchanged thousands of pounds.
As reported, the affected women – many in their 60s and 70s – are owed up to £2,950 each due to changes made by the government. However, instead of receiving this compensation, they have been left with a staggering financial loss.
Labour has come under fire for failing to deliver on its election promise to support WASPI women. The party’s leader, Keir Starmer, was accused of “turning his back” on the group, leaving them feeling betrayed and abandoned.
“We’ve been let down by Labour, they promised us the earth but delivered nothing,” said one affected woman. “We’re not asking for much, just what we were promised. It’s outrageous that we’ve been treated like this.”
The WASPI women have had to take matters into their own hands, organizing protests and petitions to raise awareness about their plight. They are refusing to back down until they receive the compensation they deserve.
“It’s unacceptable that we’re being forced to fight for something we were promised,” another woman added. “We’ve worked hard all our lives and paid our taxes, only to be left with a significant financial loss. It’s not fair.”
As the situation continues to escalate, Labour faces mounting pressure to reconsider their stance on the matter.
