Sonic the Hedgehog 4 movie confirmed by Paramount
Paramount Pictures is gearing up to bring back the blue blur to the big screen once again, as the studio has officially confirmed its work on Sonic the Hedgehog 4. The new installment is expected to hit theaters in spring 2027.
While no details have been revealed regarding the plot of the upcoming film, it’s likely that the movie will see the return of Ben Schwartz and Jim Carrey reprising their roles as Sonic and Dr. Robotnik respectively. This announcement comes after the recent success of the previous films in the franchise, with the first installment securing a record-breaking opening weekend for a video game adaptation.
As expected, the third film in the series, which features Keanu Reeves among its star-studded cast, is set to release tomorrow and is currently projected to fall short of the financial expectations set by Sonic the Hedgehog 2. However, it’s important to note that anything can happen.
It has also been announced that a television spin-off will be available on Paramount+ next spring, which will delve into the backstory of Sonic’s echidna ally Knuckles, voiced by Idris Elba.
