Here comes Sandisk with a rebrand
SanDisk is now SANDISK. Yes, it’s also still SanDisk. The company has announced a fresh rebranding, ditching its classic inter-capped serif logo style in favor of a new, futuristic all-caps design.
According to the company, this change was inspired by “a single point of data” or a “pixel.” The new logo maintains the open “D” letter, but pairs it with a bold and modern “S.” SanDisk claims that the letters symbolize “the collaboration and partnership required to actualize our purpose and tap into new possibilities.”
This rebranding comes ahead of a spinoff from its parent company Western Digital, planned for next year. Western Digital acquired SanDisk back in 2016.
The rebrand is an interesting move by SanDisk, considering the controversy surrounding one of their products last year. The popular portable SanDisk Extreme SSD was reported to wipe out users’ data without warning, leaving some customers without access to important files.
