Nikita Buyanov, Game Director and Head of Battlestate Games, has announced a commitment to continuing support for Escape From Tarkov Arena. Despite the game not meeting initial expectations, Buyanov believes that it still has significant potential for growth.
Buyanov emphasized that Escape From Tarkov Arena is an integral part of the larger EFT universe, and will always be supported by the development team. He also revealed plans to introduce new connections between Arena and the main Escape From Tarkov game, although he declined to provide further details on these developments at this time.
The announcement comes as a free weekend for Escape From Tarkov Arena is underway, with all areas of the game being completely unlocked and offering rewards that can be used in both Arena and the main game. The event will run until December 23rd, 4:00 EST.
Buyanov also addressed rumors that the game would be made free-to-play, stating that while it’s not a current priority, the idea has been considered before and may return as an option in the future.
It is clear that Battlestate Games remains committed to the development of Escape From Tarkov Arena, despite any initial doubts about the game.
