New Research Reveals Carbon ‘Time Bomb’ In Our Homes, Appliances
According to recent studies, a significant amount of carbon has been embedded in our homes and appliances due to the rapid development of complex products that require larger quantities of fossil fuel-based materials. The study suggests that this is not surprising as oil and gas giants are shifting their focus from traditional fuels to non-fuel products, such as plastics.
The report highlights the need for a multi-pronged approach based on the waste hierarchy principle of “reduce, reuse, recycle.” This can only be achieved through effective management of landfills, reduced consumption, extension of product lifetime, and increased recycling.
