Title: DOGE Co-Head Vivek Ramaswamy’s Account Hacked, Scammers Promote $USUAL
The official Twitter account of Vivek Ramaswamy, co-head of the U.S. government’s DOGE efficiency department, has been hacked by scammers. The hackers have used this compromised account to spread false information about a partnership between DOGE and the stablecoin project USUAL, causing an unexpected surge in $USUAL’s price.
According to James Fishback, CEO of Azoria and Founder of Incubate Debate, Vivek Ramaswamy has been hacked and is currently locked out of his account. This confirms that the tweet about a partnership between DOGE and USUAL is indeed fraudulent.
The sudden price increase and market capitalization growth in $USUAL have led to concerns over the security and integrity of Twitter accounts belonging to influential figures in the cryptocurrency space. The incident highlights the need for robust security measures to prevent such attacks from occurring in the future.
In recent times, social media account hacks have become a common tactic used by scammers to manipulate cryptocurrency prices and promote fraudulent tokens. Just last month, the Cardano Foundation’s official Twitter account was hacked, leading to the spread of false information about an SEC lawsuit against Cardano (ADA) while promoting a new token.
The scam has led to a significant increase in $USUAL’s price, which rose by 31.08% to $1.52, and its market capitalization increased by 32.73% to $683.2 million. However, the 24-hour trading volume decreased by 7.76% to $1.6 billion.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of verifying information before making any investment decisions in the cryptocurrency space.
