Hyundai is giving away free Tesla NACs adapters to its EV customers
December 23, 2024 – In a move aimed at enhancing the charging experience for its electric vehicle (EV) owners, South Korean automaker Hyundai has announced that it will be providing free Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapters to its eligible customers.
According to an official statement from Hyundai, the company will be sending out these adapters to all customers who have purchased or leased a Hyundai EV before January 31. The eligible vehicles include model-year 2024 and earlier Kona Electric, Ioniq hatchback, Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models.
In addition, the automaker has stated that model-year 2025 Ioniq 6, Ioniq 5 N and Kona Electric vehicles are also eligible for the free adapter. To receive the adapter, customers must request it through the online MyHyundai owner portal.
The move comes as Hyundai aims to improve the charging experience for its EV owners, particularly with regards to accessing Tesla’s extensive network of over 20,000 Supercharger stations in the United States.
