Woosh Smart Air Filter Review: No More Guessing
I recently had the chance to test the Woosh Smart Air Filter, a game-changing innovation in indoor air quality technology. This intelligent filter eliminates the need for constant monitoring and replacement, which is a major issue with traditional filters.
When it comes to choosing the right filter for my HVAC system, I was initially skeptical about using MERV 13 filters as they seemed to have higher flow resistance than what I’ve used before. According to Li, an expert in air filtration, this isn’t necessarily true. She explains that flow resistance is a measure of how much pressure drop there is when the filter is in place, and it seems that some manufacturers may be exaggerating the difference between MERV 8 and MERV 13 filters.
In fact, Li says she has seen MERV 13 filters with lower flow resistance than a MERV 8. Ultimately, Li emphasizes the age of my HVAC system as the most crucial factor in determining whether I can use higher-efficiency filters like MERV 11 or MERV 14. If you have an old HVAC system, it’s best to exercise caution and avoid using high-efficiency filters.
Instead, listen to your HVAC system by paying attention to the sound and feel of the air flow coming from the vents. If everything sounds normal, then it’s likely that your system can handle a higher-efficiency filter.
