**The World’s Largest Hacker Group May Have Breached Another Cryptocurrency Platform**
As the cryptocurrency market continues to grapple with the aftermath of a massive hack, it has been revealed that another significant breach may have occurred. According to reports, the MetaMask security expert has expressed concern about the Hyperliquid platform, stating that it is crucial for the company to take immediate action to address the vulnerabilities.
The expert highlighted the alarming fact that one of the most notorious hacker groups, Lazarus Group, has shown a particular interest in Hyperliquid and may have already compromised the system. Although no explicit confirmation has been made, the MetaMask security specialist emphasized that even if the group did not gain access to the company’s funds, they could still have penetrated the platform’s infrastructure.
The expert also drew attention to a critical vulnerability in the platform’s multisig wallet, stating that it is possible for an unknown number of authorized users to exploit this weakness. This raises concerns about the potential damage that could be done if rogue actors were able to gain access to the system.
Furthermore, the expert warned that even if the Lazarus Group did not directly compromise Hyperliquid’s funds, their lateral movement strategy allows them to use multiple entry points on the network to move laterally and potentially disrupt the entire system. This is particularly disconcerting given the group’s notorious track record of massive heists, having allegedly stolen nearly $900 million from various targets.
As a result, the MetaMask security expert urged Hyperliquid to take immediate action to address these concerns and strengthen its defenses against potential threats.
