
The Remaining Issues with Path of Exile 2’s Early Access Endgame
As I continue to delve into the world of Path of Exile 2’s early access endgame, I’ve come across several issues that require attention. While the game has undoubtedly provided hours of entertainment for me and many others, these problems cannot be ignored if the endgame is to truly shine.
One of the most pressing concerns is the punishing nature of the game’s death system. The current setup leads to frustrating losses due to a combination of factors, including the one-death penalty system and the lack of meaningful consequences for death. It’s not uncommon to see players resorting to exploitation strategies simply because they’re forced to in order to progress.
Furthermore, the management of Waystones has become a chore. Even with optimal Atlas tree upgrades, it feels like a never-ending struggle to maintain an acceptable number of these valuable items. The 25% chance to get the desired tier of Waystone is often unreliable, leaving players who don’t engage in trading limited options. This issue goes beyond just being inconvenient; it can be a major hindrance to enjoying the endgame experience.
Another significant problem is the current state of Magic Find (MF). While I understand that MF is intended to encourage farming and exploration, the current implementation has led to an unbalanced situation where players are forced to stack MF gear in order to participate. This approach creates an environment where others can get away with absurdly high rewards due to their extensive use of MF gear.
Lastly, the Ascendancy Trials have become a major source of frustration for me and many other players. These trials are overly punishing, featuring stacking negative modifiers that only serve to prolong already lengthy attempts at completion. The current system feels like it’s more focused on punishment rather than providing an engaging experience.
It’s worth noting that despite these issues, I’ve still had a significant amount of fun playing Path of Exile 2. This game has the potential to be truly remarkable, but only if these problems are addressed and an endgame is created that is both challenging and enjoyable.
