Terra (LUNA) Founder Do Kwon Set For US Extradition: Montenegro Minister Signs Order
The long-awaited extradition decision has been made official. According to a recent report, the Minister of Justice in Montenegro has signed an order allowing for the extradition of Terra (LUNA) founder Do Kwon to the United States of America.
This development comes after months of intense scrutiny and investigation surrounding Kwon’s alleged role in the collapse of TerraUSD and Luna, which led to a catastrophic event wiping out approximately $40 billion from the broader crypto market. It is essential to note that US authorities had initially requested extradition, while the Republic of Korea also sought his return.
Following his arrest at Podgorica airport on March 23rd, Do Kwon was sentenced to four months in prison for using forged passports to travel to Dubai with Han Chang-joon, his finance officer. Subsequent events led Montenegrin authorities to transfer him to an immigration inspector after a five-hour interrogation.
The recent decision paves the way for Kwon’s departure from Montenegro and eventual arrival in the United States of America to face charges related to his alleged role in the TerraUSD/Luna crash.
At the time of writing, Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) trades at $0.00011565, a significant drop since the implosion of the Terra ecosystem.
