As I sit here writing this, the festive season has just drawn to a close and I am still reeling from the sheer excess of it all. It seems that everyone around me was getting into the holiday spirit, but for one thing: Christmas.
The Kardashians were at it again, with Kylie Jenner dazzling in a stunning white sequined dress, begging us all to “get it on a T-shirt.” Meanwhile, the royal family was putting on a united front, with Prince William and Kate Middleton’s young brood stealing the show once more. Even Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban took their daughters to church, a poignant reminder of her mother Janelle’s passing.
But amidst all the cheer, I couldn’t help but notice the darker undertones that lingered beneath the surface. The ongoing drama between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, for instance, has taken a turn with allegations of sexual harassment. Meanwhile, Prince William was spotted making a hilarious joke about his son Louis’s eagerness to share the details of their surprise performance.
It seems that even in the face of adversity, we can still find joy.
