Today’s NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers For Sunday, December 29th
As the last Lazy Sunday of the year approaches, I recommend taking full advantage of it. Who needs to be productive when you can spend your day playing games, watching great movies and TV shows, or eating way too much food? You can always get back to all that healthy stuff on Thursday. But before then, let’s solve today’s Mini Crossword!
For those who are new to the NYT Mini Crossword, it’s a smaller and more digestible version of the larger and more challenging NYT Crossword, available for free without a subscription. You can access it on the web or through their app.
The answers to today’s puzzle are below, so if you want to avoid spoilers, please skip this section!
ACROSS
1 — Getting closer, so to speak — WARM
5— First-string crew — ATEAM
7 — ___ journalism, style associated with Hunter S. Thompson — GONZO
8 — Prized “activity” for new parents — SLEEP
9 — Opposite of more — LESS
DOWN
1 — Moves like an excited dog’s tail — WAGS
2 — Ring-shaped reef — ATOLL
3 — Zellweger of “Bridget Jones’s Diary” — RENEE
4 — Puzzles in a children’s coloring book — MAZES
6 — Cleans the floor — MOPS
This Mini Crossword was relatively quick, although some of the words were slightly trickier than usual. I skipped 1 and 5 ACROSS initially and went straight to 7—GONZO—and then 9—LESS. Despite thinking NAPS for 8-ACROSS at first, SLEEP ended up being the correct answer – close enough! It took me a little extra time to come up with ATOLL for 2-DOWN, but the rest of it was pretty straightforward.
My solve time today was 1 minute and 11 seconds. How did you fare? Please share your results with me on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook!
As an added bonus, I also create guides for Wordle, so if that’s something you’re into as well, be sure to check those out.
