Apple’s latest update to its iOS 18.2 operating system has brought about a significant change to the Mail app – introducing a new categorization feature for better email organization and management.
As an early adopter, you might be wondering how to use this new feature efficiently. The CyberGuy is here to guide you through the steps to make the most out of it.
Firstly, open your Apple Mail app on your device, then tap the three horizontal dots in the top right corner of your inbox. This will reveal a list of options, including “Categories.” Selecting this option will allow you to switch between different categories and customize your email management.
However, if you’re not a fan of the new categorization feature, fear not! You can easily revert back to the traditional List View by tapping those three horizontal dots again and selecting List View. It’s essential to note that you cannot remove the Categories feature entirely, but this option allows you to switch between the two for better control.
In an effort to streamline your email management, Apple has also introduced a new “Primary” category in its Mail app. To ensure that important emails from trusted sources land in the correct folder, follow these steps:
1. Scroll through your inbox and locate any email from a trusted sender.
2. Tap the leftward arrow to view additional details about this message.
3. Click where it says “Categorize Sender.”
4. Select Primary.
By performing this action, Apple’s Mail app will learn from this interaction and adapt to recognize emails from these trusted sources in the future.
