Former “The Bachelorette” star Andi Dorfman has revealed she was hospitalized after the birth of her daughter due to a severe postpartum injury.
Dorfman shared her harrowing experience on social media, detailing the excruciating pain she endured following the delivery. The reality TV personality wrote that she developed two hematomas, or blood clots, which caused her immense discomfort and prompted an emergency hospital visit.
“I had two hematomas, a larger one and a smaller one, that were the source of my pain,” Dorfman explained in her post. “Within a few hours we were at the hospital and prepped for surgery. A very straightforward procedure but still pretty terrifying having a 6-day-old baby (plus loads of hormones still lurking).”
Dorfman emphasized the importance of trusting one’s body and instincts during the postpartum recovery period, urging new mothers to not hesitate in seeking medical attention if they experience any unusual symptoms or discomfort.
“Trust your body, trust your instinct and trust that your doctors do truly care about your health and well-being and don’t be afraid to reach out to them,” she advised. “I felt some guilt worrying about myself instead of my daughter but I realized she’s no good if I’m no good.”
The reality TV star, who has been married to her husband Blaine Hart since May 2023, initially gained fame after appearing on the 18th season of “The Bachelor” in 2014. She later went on to host the 10th season of “The Bachelorette.”
