New Samsung Leak Confirms Disappointing Galaxy S25 Ultra Camera Upgrade
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra has been the subject of much speculation and rumor in recent months. Unfortunately, a new leak suggests that camera enthusiasts may be disappointed with the upgrade.
According to files leaked from the device, the rear camera setup will feature largely unchanged hardware compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The only notable exception is the inclusion of a new 50-megapixel ultra-wide module, which would represent a significant leap over the current 12-megapixel sensor found in the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
While this upgrade may be seen as progress by some, it’s hard not to feel underwhelmed given the general expectation that Samsung would take a more substantial step forward. The rest of the camera hardware appears to remain largely the same, which could lead to similar performance and limitations as before.
It’s worth noting that this leak does confirm previous rumors from respected tipster Ice Universe, who predicted a similar configuration in September. It remains to be seen if Samsung will offer this higher-resolution ultra-wide option or keep it exclusive to other models in their lineup.
The one notable improvement is the addition of a new, brighter F/1.9 aperture lens for the ultra-wide camera. This change could potentially improve picture quality, particularly in low-light situations where noise and graininess are often issues. However, this alone may not be enough to justify an upgrade for those already satisfied with their Galaxy S24 Ultra.
It will be interesting to see how Samsung addresses these concerns when they officially unveil the Galaxy S25 Ultra at their upcoming launch event, set to take place in January 2025.
