Two Dead After Search for Sasquatch in Washington National Forest
Tragedy struck over the holiday period as two men from Portland were found deceased while searching for the elusive Sasquatch in a Washington national forest. The pair, aged 59 and 37 respectively, went missing on Christmas Eve after they failed to return home as expected.
According to officials, a “flock camera” located their vehicle off Oklahoma Road near Willard, Washington, leading to an extensive search operation involving over 60 volunteers, canines, drones, ground search teams, and a US Coast Guard air asset. The operation spanned three grueling days, with responders facing challenging terrain and harsh weather conditions.
Sadly, the bodies of the two men were ultimately discovered in a heavily wooded area of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, where they appear to have succumbed to exposure due to their ill-preparation for the unforgiving environment.
The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers that can accompany the pursuit of cryptids and other unverified phenomena.
