The United States government has officially declared an American teacher imprisoned in Russia as wrongfully detained.
Marc Fogel, a history teacher from Pennsylvania, was arrested at a Russian airport in August 2021 for allegedly possessing drugs. His family and supporters have consistently maintained that the medications were prescribed to treat his medical condition.
