Volkswagen restructuring talks with its unions have concluded, and it appears that the labor representatives have emerged victorious. Despite the company’s efforts to restructure and reduce costs, the agreement reached has maintained job security for employees until at least 2030.
As part of the deal, Volkswagen agreed not to close any German factories immediately, with a focus on compacting rather than closing plants. The company will also retain its EV capacity in Germany, which may result in excess facilities remaining operational.
