Amazon Drops iPhone 16 Price In Rare New Apple Sale
In a rare move, Amazon has dropped the price of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. This is one of the few discounts Apple’s flagship range has seen since their launch in September.
For those in the U.K., the prices have been reduced by roughly 5%. Here are the new prices:
* Apple iPhone 16, 128GB – £749 ($937), down from £799 ($999)
* Apple iPhone 16 Pro 256GB – £1,049 ($1312), down from £1,099 ($1375)
* Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max 512GB – £1,349 ($1687), down from £1,399 ($1750)
It’s worth noting that iPhones are not typically subject to massive discounts like their Android competitors. Samsung, for example, has been known to knock hundreds of dollars off the price of its Galaxy phones or pay significantly more than the odds for old devices through trade-in deals.
Although Apple has matched some of Samsung’s trade-in pricing in recent years, the company rarely drops iPhone prices. This means that Apple phones retain their value on the second-hand market. As a result, if you sell your iPhone 16 in three or four years, it will likely fetch a better price than the Google Pixel 9 or Samsung Galaxy S24.
However, new research from Compare and Recycle suggests that this may be changing. According to their data, the iPhone 15 series lost an unprecedented 55% of its value in the first year, which is the most ever recorded for a one-year-old iPhone.
