MicroStrategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, has made another bold move in the cryptocurrency market. The Michael Saylor-founded company has announced that it has acquired an additional 2,138 BTC for approximately $209 million, taking its total holdings to a staggering 446,400 BTC.
According to the announcement, MicroStrategy used $209 million in cash to purchase the BTC at an average price of $97,837 per coin. This significant purchase is not unexpected, given the company’s long-standing commitment to Bitcoin. In fact, this marks the eighth consecutive week that MicroStrategy has acquired more Bitcoin.
The purchase of 2,138 additional coins brings the total value of MicroStrategy’s BTC holdings to approximately $41.5 billion. The company has spent a substantial amount, roughly $27.9 billion, in building its vast Bitcoin treasury.
