Conor McGregor Vs. Logan Paul: Massive Payouts, New Details Revealed
A highly anticipated exhibition boxing match between YouTube star-turned-boxer Logan Paul and former UFC champion Conor McGregor is gathering steam. The massive fight, rumored to be funded by the Albani Family, one of the wealthiest families in the world, has recently garnered new details.
As per reports, the location for the colossal event will be Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, which will serve as part of India’s Visit India tourism campaign. This is not entirely surprising, considering WWE’s significant presence in the region and its potential to leverage Paul’s clout within the professional wrestling organization.
The UFC’s involvement in this fight seems uncertain at present. As per McGregor’s contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), he still has two fights left under his current agreement. Any deal for a fight against Logan Paul might have to go through Dana White, the president of the UFC.
It’s worth noting that Paul’s recent victory over Mike Tyson in November 2022 earned him an estimated $40 million payday. This fight with McGregor would be far more lucrative if it takes place.
To put this into perspective, Mayweather’s earnings from his 2017 showdown against Conor McGregor were reported to be a staggering $285 million. The Irishman took home $130 million for the bout, making their total combined earnings a whopping $415 million.
This potential fight between the two has been met with skepticism by fans of mixed martial arts (MMA) and boxing alike. However, history suggests that such criticism does not necessarily translate to negative marketability or the event’s overall success.
In November 2022, Jake Paul, Logan’s younger brother, successfully fought Mike Tyson in a live-streamed event on Netflix that shattered viewership records. The bout was reportedly funded by TKO Holdings, which oversees both WWE and UFC.
