Today’s ‘Wordle’ #1291 Hints, Clues And Answer For Tuesday, December 31st
Happy New Year’s Eve, dear Wordlers! As the clock strikes midnight, I hope you’ve had a chance to unwind and recharge for the new year. If not, don’t worry – we’ll get right into today’s puzzle.
As per usual, our goal is to provide helpful hints, clues, and ultimately, the answer for Wordle #1291. So, grab your thinking caps and let’s dive in!
**Hint Time**
Before we begin, I want to remind you that our Competitive Wordle Score guidelines are still in effect. If you’re new or need a refresher, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the rules: guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; and so on.
Now that we’ve got our priorities straight, let’s get into today’s puzzle. As you’ll recall, we’re aiming for a unique five-letter solution. Since my previous attempts were unsuccessful, I opted for an unorthodox approach: using the yellow boxes to inform my next move.
**Clue Climb**
After inputting SPIEL as my initial attempt, I was left with 116 possible solutions – not ideal, but workable. However, FLARE didn’t provide the desired outcome, leaving me with a smaller pool of options. Fortunately, this narrow focus allowed me to land on the correct answer: LEMUR.
**Answer Time**
And there you have it – LEMUR is today’s Wordle #1291 solution! As we close out the year, I’d love to hear about your experience with this puzzle. How did you fare? Were you able to guess the word in three attempts or less?
Before I sign off for the new year, a brief etymological aside: The term “lemur” originates from Latin, where lemures referred to spirits or ghosts of the dead. It’s fascinating to see how European naturalists linked these nocturnal primates’ characteristics (nocturnal habits and reflective eyes) with Roman mythology, leading to the name.
As always, I’d like to extend an invitation for you to share your experiences on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn. If you have any questions or would like to discuss future puzzles, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
