Solana leads weekly stablecoin growth: Surges above $5 Billion
Solana has made a remarkable surge in the last week of 2024, as it surpassed the $5 billion mark for its stablecoin marketcap. According to recent data, Solana added roughly $424.87 million to its stablecoin this past week, making it the top gainer in terms of stablecoin growth during the last seven days. The majority of this growth came from the addition of USDT and USDC stablecoins.
This impressive performance by Solana has further solidified its position as one of the top-performing blockchains in 2024 across multiple fronts, including user growth, transactions, and stablecoin count. This development is particularly significant given that it facilitates liquidity and accessibility to the Solana WEB3 ecosystem.
Furthermore, this growth is also aligned with the global stablecoin marketcap exceeding $200 million for the first time ever. The recent surge in Solana’s stablecoin marketcap was seen on the 29th of December, reaching a new high in 2024 at $5.24 billion. This marks a significant milestone, as this was not achieved in any other year except for September.
It is intriguing to see that both Solana TVL and stablecoin growth are now pointing towards further room for expansion in 2025. Despite not meeting the historic ATHs seen in 2022, Solana has shown resilience in recent times, which could be a sign of more positive developments to come.
