Bitcoin (BTC) to Surpass $150K in 2025 Amidst Institutional Adoption, Predicts Galaxy Research
According to a recent report by Galaxy Research, the value of Bitcoin is poised to surge significantly in 2025. The analysts at Galaxy Research have predicted that the cryptocurrency will exceed $150,000 by the end of the year.
The researchers attribute this rapid growth to the growing institutional adoption and increased mainstream recognition of Bitcoin’s potential. Historically, the cryptocurrency has outperformed traditional assets such as gold and the S&P 500, a trend that is expected to continue in the upcoming year.
This development would have far-reaching implications for the market, particularly in the financial sector where Bitcoin’s value may surpass that of gold by the end of 2025. In fact, the Galaxy Research team predicts that Bitcoin will capture an impressive 20% of gold’s total market capitalization.
Furthermore, the report highlights a significant growth in the U.S. spot Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Products (ETPs), which are expected to see assets under management exceed $250 billion by the end of next year. The success of these ETPs has already been demonstrated through net inflows of over $36 billion in 2024, making them the most successful product launch in history.
The report also forecasts that at least five major companies from the Nasdaq 100 and a minimum of five nation-states will officially announce their inclusion of Bitcoin in their balance sheets or sovereign wealth funds by 2025. This sudden interest in Bitcoin is expected to be driven by strategic, diversification, and trade settlement motives.
Additionally, the Galaxy Research team anticipates significant progress on the protocol upgrade front in the coming year. While the exact upgrades may not come into effect until later years, consensus among developers is expected to be reached regarding opcodes like OP_CTV (BIP 119) and OP_CAT (BIP 347).
