Sonic SVM Tokenomics Revealed: SONIC Token Generation Event on January 7, 2025
In a recent announcement, SonicX has unveiled the tokenomics of its new native cryptocurrency, $SONIC. As part of this, the company has also revealed that the Token Generation Event (TGE) will take place on January 7, 2025.
As previously announced, the total supply of $SONIC tokens will be one billion. Of these, 57% will be allocated to the community, with a significant portion going towards ecosystem and community development. A total of 30% has been set aside for this purpose, while 20% is designated for rewards within the HyperGrid.
Another notable aspect of the tokenomics is the initial claims allocation, which accounts for 7% of the total supply. This allocation will be distributed based on a snapshot taken on December 31, 2024, and eligible users will be able to verify their eligibility starting January 3, 2025, through a tool provided by the SonicX team.
The token distribution will also include a portion for the team and investors, which will remain locked for 12-18 months. These tokens will not be eligible for staking or any other use within the ecosystem during this period.
In addition to these allocations, it was announced that the SonicX airdrop event on TikTok will continue until January 6, offering more people the opportunity to obtain $SONIC tokens.
The launch of SONIC SVM marks an exciting milestone in the development of decentralized applications and gaming. By leveraging the HyperGrid framework, which optimizes Solana rollups, SonicX aims to provide scalable solutions for these sectors. The $SONIC token will play a crucial role in this endeavor, with its various use cases including payments, staking, and governance.
The integration of Web3 applications like SonicX, the first Web3 layer for TikTok, further solidifies SonicX’s position as a key driver of ecosystem expansion.
