A surprise fight at UFC 312? That’s exactly what Alex Pereira has teased on social media. As the current light heavyweight champion, speculation is running wild about his next move. Will he face Magomed Ankalaev as previously discussed or is something entirely different in store?
The Brazilian fighter posted a short video and a cryptic message on social media on Monday, sparking widespread speculation among fans and critics alike. Could Pereira be stepping up to heavyweight for an interim title fight against Tom Aspinall? That would require him to abandon his 205-pound belt.
Another possibility is Pereira moving into the boxing ring, possibly for a bout with Jake Paul. This wouldn’t come out of left field as the two have a history. In July, Pereira answered Paul’s FaceTime call in the ring, and there have been rumors swirling about a potential matchup between them.
Rumors of Conor McGregor vs Logan Paul are also doing the rounds, but it seems unlikely that this will be the case. This leaves us with the question: what is really going on?
