MLB The Show fans, there is promising news about the upcoming game. I’ve been digging into potential sources to find details about the new installment. According to my information, Sony San Diego has not ignored the criticism it received from its community after MLB The Show 24. One source revealed that “they heard it loud and clear, and MLB The Show 25 will be designed as a fan-appreciation version of the series.”
This may not mean every feature fans have clamored for will be included, but significant improvements are expected in certain areas. It appears that the game will no longer be forgiving the legends of the Steroid Era.
As reported earlier, Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire were added to the roster, and it now seems that more sluggers and pitchers from the late 1990s-Early 2000s are joining the mix. Baseball is trending towards including the legends who made headlines during this period. Sources suggest Nomar Garciaparra and Roger Clemens have a strong chance of being included, although this could change. Alex Rodriguez and Manny Ramirez were also mentioned as potential additions. Many fans are still holding out hope that Barry Bonds will be part of the roster, given his return to Topps with autographed cards in 2025; however, no one I spoke to could confirm his inclusion.
The absence of Barry Bonds notwithstanding, it’s essential to acknowledge the strides taken by MLB The Show in recent years. The game has been successfully integrating Negro League representation into Diamond Dynasty and offline modes. This incorporation has been done seamlessly and with respect for the history of baseball. It is reported that this trend will continue for MLB The Show 25, as more Negro Leagues legends and storylines are expected to be included.
In addition, sources have revealed that Diamond Dynasty will receive a significant overhaul in the upcoming game. New pack concepts are being developed to improve the overall experience. If all goes according to plan, MLB The Show 25 could serve as an example of how consumers can influence the product they purchase and play annually.
