US telco Lumen says its network is now clear of China’s Salt Typhoon hackers
Lumen, one of at least nine U.S. telecommunications firms reportedly compromised by Salt Typhoon hackers, has announced that the Chinese hacking group is no longer in its network. According to a spokesperson for the company, Mark Molzen, an independent forensic analysis confirmed that Lumen had successfully ejected the Chinese actors from its system.
It’s worth noting that there is “no evidence that customer data was accessed” during the Salt Typhoon breach, according to Lumen. This statement comes after other U.S. telecom giants AT&T and Verizon confirmed to TechCrunch that they too had secured their networks following breaches.
