Today’s ‘Wordle’ #1295 Hints, Clues And Answer For Saturday, January 4th
Winter has finally arrived, and with it, the perfect excuse to cozy up indoors and indulge in some wordplay. But before we get to that, I’d like to remind you to check out my streaming guide for some great TV show and movie recommendations.
Now, let’s dive into today’s Wordle puzzle! The hint is quite straightforward: “Take a load off.” This intriguing phrase immediately transports me to memories of unwinding after a long week. But enough about that; it’s time to get back to the task at hand – solving this puzzle!
Upon examining the game, I noticed something peculiar – an 8-point Scrabble letter is hidden within. With this crucial information, I can confidently say that my Wordle analysis will be quite different from yesterday’s.
My first guess, LOUSE, wasn’t entirely terrible, but it didn’t yield the desired results. BLEAT, on the other hand, was a different story altogether. By eliminating 121 remaining words, we’re left with only 12 possibilities. I made an unfortunate mistake by selecting REGAL as my next guess, which left me with two potential solutions: RELAY and RELAX.
Regrettably, my poor choice led to today’s disappointing outcome. As a result, I must bear the consequences – a -2 point loss.
Competitive Wordle enthusiasts can now reference this information to strategize their own moves. For those new to the game, here are some simple rules: guessing in 1 is worth 3 points, while guesses in 2 and 3 yield 2 and 1 points respectively. Guessing in 4 earns you nothing, whereas attempts in 5 or 6 result in -1 and -2 points, respectively. Losing to the Bot results in a -1 point penalty.
To keep things interesting, Fridays offer a unique twist – a 2XP multiplier, which doubles your daily score, whether positive or negative.
Before we part ways, it’s essential to understand the etymology behind today’s solution. The word “relax” originates from Latin relaxare, meaning “to loosen, open, stretch out, or widen again.” This term has undergone a fascinating transformation, evolving from re- (meaning “again” or “back”) and laxare (meaning “to loosen”), which in turn is derived from the Latin verb laxus, signifying “loose” or “slack.”
