LG has unveiled two new home entertainment projectors at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), including a unique 3-in-1 device and what it claims is the world’s smallest 4K ultra-short throw (UST) model.
First, let’s talk about the LG PF600U. This projector can do a lot more than just project images. It is described by the company as “a versatile 3-in-1 lifestyle companion for everyday spaces.” It combines its core projector functionality with the ability to also function as an LED mood lamp and a Bluetooth music speaker.
The design of this device has been inspired by floor lamps, which makes it easy to integrate into any space. The LED mood lamp feature is capable of enhancing your room’s ambiance with nine colors and five brightness levels. This means that users can create different moods depending on their preferences or the occasion.
It also features a stereo speaker setup that incorporates passive radiators to deliver richer and more immersive sound, despite its compact form. Additionally, it has a 110-degree tilting head and an auto screen adjustment function, which makes it easy to set up and watch from almost anywhere.
However, while this projector is quite versatile, it’s not as well specified for pictures as the CineBeam S. It only supports full HD (1920×1080) resolution rather than 4K, its brightness is rated at 300 ANSI lumens rather than 500, and its contrast ratio is quoted at 150,000:1 rather than 450,000:1.
It does still support HDR10 and HLG playback, though, and it’s capable of delivering a picture size up to 120 inches in size, which is 20 inches more than the CineBeam S. The projector also carries LG’s webOS smart system, meaning that users can stream movies and TV shows directly into the device rather than having to attach an external source.
The second projector announced by LG at CES is the CF4K, which the company claims is the world’s smallest 4K UST model. This projector has a compact size of just 2.5 inches thick and weighs only 1.9 pounds, making it very portable.
It’s also capable of delivering 4K resolution with HDR10 support, as well as supporting wireless content sharing from Android or iOS devices.
