Notch Teases Making ‘Minecraft 2’ But Also Wants To Make A Roguelike
Markus “Notch” Persson, the creator of Minecraft, has recently taken to social media to tease the possibility of working on a sequel to his hit game. However, in a surprising twist, he also expressed interest in developing a roguelike game.
In a recent poll, Notch asked fans if they would prefer him to continue working on an unannounced tile-based first-person dungeon crawler that is a traditional roguelike mixed with a tile based first person dungeon crawler or start on Minecraft 2. The results are in, and it seems like the majority of respondents (77%) have voted in favor of the former option.
Notch has been very active on social media recently, sparking a frenzy of questions and comments from fans. When asked about his plans for Minecraft 2, he expressed that he is “mostly over” the skibidi toilet meme, but admitted to having no idea what it means or where it came from.
As for the possibility of Minecraft 2, Notch revealed that he doesn’t really care which option wins and will likely choose the one that makes him more money. However, he did stress that if he were to work on a sequel, he would make sure not to infringe upon the work being done by Mojang, the studio he previously worked at.
Notch’s recent comments have sparked both excitement and skepticism among fans of the game. Some are thrilled at the prospect of new content from the creator himself, while others are worried that his intentions may be driven more by financial gain than a genuine desire to create something meaningful.
It remains to be seen whether Notch will actually follow through on these plans or if they were simply a way to stir up interest and excitement among fans. One thing is certain, however – with Notch’s involvement, any potential project would have the weight of his creative genius behind it.
