Samsung’s Next Unpacked Event Sets a Date to Reveal the Galaxy S25
Samsung has officially announced its upcoming Unpacked event, which is scheduled to take place on January 22nd at 10AM PT / 1PM ET. The event will be streamed live on YouTube, Samsung’s website, and newsroom page.
According to the company’s invitation, the highly anticipated event will introduce the next generation of Galaxy S devices, as well as new Galaxy AI features. This comes as no surprise, given the recent rumors surrounding Samsung’s plans for its flagship series.
In a move that may be music to the ears of fans eagerly awaiting the release, the company is offering $50 credits to customers who reserve their spot in line to preorder the upcoming phones. For those interested in securing a spot early on, this could be a significant incentive.
Furthermore, it’s been reported that Samsung’s next Galaxy S devices will feature more rounded corners, aligning with its lower-tier phone designs while still retaining key features such as the Galaxy S Pen. Additionally, there have been whispers of a “Galaxy Slim” phone in the works for later this year.
Another major development worth noting is the potential inclusion of Qi2 wireless charging technology in the new Galaxy S25 line. While it’s unclear whether Samsung will be including magnets within its phones or relying on magnetic cases instead, one thing is certain – the company has announced support for Qi 2 with its new Galaxy devices and introduced “Qi2 Ready,” a special certification for phones requiring a magnetic case to fully support the standard.
We’ll have to wait until January 22nd to learn more about Samsung’s plans for its next flagship series.
