Musk took to social media platform X to retweet a viral video featuring Poilievre discussing the need to cut government spending to combat inflation. The billionaire entrepreneur described Poilievre’s views as “perfectly articulated,” indicating his strong approval and endorsement of the candidate’s stance.

Poilievre, who has been a long-time advocate for Bitcoin, has previously stated that Canadians should have the freedom to use alternative currencies such as Bitcoin. His vision is to make Canada the “global blockchain capital.” This stance aligns with Musk’s own views on cryptocurrency, making his endorsement all the more significant.

The Canadian Conservative Party leader’s rise in popularity comes as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his resignation, citing concerns about the cost of living and economic uncertainty among Canadians. Poilievre’s chances of winning are significantly higher than those of other candidates, including Chrystia Freeland, with odds currently favoring a win at an estimated 89%.
