Philips Hue is getting an AI-powered lighting assistant
In a recent announcement, Philips Hue has revealed that it will be introducing an AI-powered lighting assistant to its existing range of products. This new feature promises to revolutionize the way users interact with their smart home lighting systems.
According to reports, the new AI-powered assistant will allow users to create personalized lighting scenes based on specific occasions, moods, or styles. The feature is designed to be highly customizable, allowing users to input specific commands or prompts that the AI can then use to generate unique and tailored lighting settings.
In a statement, Philips Hue revealed that users will be able to create these customized lighting scenarios by simply typing in their desired mood, occasion, or style, such as “Give me a scene for a garden party” or “I want a relaxing atmosphere.” The assistant will then either recommend existing scenes from the gallery or generate an entirely new one based on the user’s input.
In addition to creating custom lighting settings, the AI-powered assistant will also allow users to adjust brightness levels and color temperature of their lights. This feature is designed to enhance the overall smart home experience by providing more granular control over lighting conditions.
It is worth noting that Philips Hue is not the first company to offer an AI-powered lighting assistant. Govee’s AI Lighting Bot, for example, already generates similar dynamic lighting effects and responds to voice commands. Similarly, Nanoleaf’s “Magic Scenes” feature creates similar scenes, but only responds to typed short phrases like “tropical paradise.”
Philips Hue has not provided a specific release date or availability timeline for the new AI-powered assistant, stating that it will begin rolling out in the first quarter of 2025.
