Czech National Bank Governor Considers Bitcoin While Expanding Gold Reserves
The governor of the Czech National Bank (CNB), Aleš Michl, has hinted at exploring the possibility of adding Bitcoin to the institution’s reserve strategy while doubling its gold reserves to 100 tons over the next three and a half years. The revelation comes as part of the bank’s efforts to ensure financial stability and maintain low inflation.
During an interview on CNN Prima News’ Partie Terezie Tománková, Michl expressed his personal interest in Bitcoin, stating that he has considered purchasing “a few Bitcoins” in the past. However, any potential investment would require approval from the full bank board, consisting of seven members.
