After months of legal battles and negotiations, US authorities have finally taken custody of Do Kwon, the co-founder and former CEO of Terraform Labs. This development brings to a close the lengthy extradition process that has been ongoing since his apprehension in Montenegro.
As reported by CryptoSlate earlier, Montenegrin police had transferred Kwon to US authorities at Podgorica International Airport on December 31st. The transfer marked the culmination of months-long negotiations between US and South Korean authorities, as well as a legal battle that has been ongoing since Kwon’s apprehension in March.
It is reported that Do Kwon will now face a jury trial in a US court scheduled for January 2026.
